Our methods of communication with parents are as follows:

Arbor - please ensure you have the Arbor app downloaded on to your smartphone/tablet/laptop etc., as this is used for trip/club payments, general pupil information (which you can update if necessary) and in app messages for urgent communications (as it pops up with a notification- please keep them turned on). You can also message or email the office via the Arbor app.

Email - for the majority of messages. You can email us at admin@bengeo.herts.sch.uk for general enquiries. Emails will now be sent to all primary guardians on the child's record.

Website - the school website has all the basic/statutory information you will need to know about the school; to find something there is a search tab in the right hand corner of the home page.

Term dates are also available on the website.

Two-weekly newsletter - this will be emailed and shared on the website, and includes all school news, information, dates for your diary and photos of what the children have been learning.

Evidence Me - is used to share learning of Foundation Stage children with parents.

Google classroom - used by teachers to share home learning when appropriate

Facebook page - we will use our Facebook page to advertise community events and to share relevant pages/information that could be of interest to parents.

Schoolcloud - is for booking and taking part in parent consultations - a link is sent to you at the time for booking.

During the first few weeks of the autumn term a welcome meeting will be held for each year group, giving parents an opportunity to meet their child's teacher. In addition, a welcome PowerPoint for each year group, will be shared on the website.  This includes information about the school and the curriculum.

Consultation evenings take place, via video call, in the middle of the autumn and spring terms for parents and teachers to discuss the children's attainment and progress. In addition, there is a Book Look at the end of each term to give parents an opportunity to see their child's learning.

If parents  have any questions regarding their child's school life, in the first instance they should approach the class teacher.  The teachers are the people who know the children best and all of our teachers are very approachable.  First thing in the morning class teachers are focused on greeting the children and welcoming them into class so it is best to speak to teachers after school. If it is urgent let the school office know the message and it will be passed on. Parents can also speak to the class teacher after school to arrange a suitable time for a meeting. Please avoid Tuesdays, as this is staff meeting day. Most questions can be answered very quickly and effectively using this route.
