COVID-19 - For the time being, our kitchen is only able to offer cold 'pack lunch' options. Hot meals will resume as soon as we are able.
School Meals - Healthy Eating
Children may have school meals, bring a packed lunch, or go home for lunch. The current cost of meals is available from the School Office. Foundation and Key Stage 1 children (Reception - Year 2) are now entitled to free school meals. Dinner money is paid half termly, monthly or weekly in advance.
Lunch time for Key Stage 1 starts at 12.00pm and 12.15pm for Key Stage 2. All children eating on the school premises are supervised by a team of Midday Supervisory Assistants.
Children will be encouraged to eat all of each meal, and those who bring packed lunches will bring home anything they do not eat. Please do not include glass bottles, fizzy drinks and sweets in packed lunches and remember we are a nut and sesame free school. (note: sesame is an ingredient of hummus)
We participate in the Government’s School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme and have received accreditation from the National Healthy Schools Scheme and the Herts Quality Standard. In KS2, children may bring a healthy snack for the morning break. Fruit is provided in KS1 on a daily basis.
Milk and other drinks
During the morning break Foundation/Key Stage 1 children may have a drink of milk or water; milk is free for Nursery children and those aged under 5. If a child prefers water a named plastic cup should be kept at school. Drinking fountains are available in the school.
